NTSB wants Gadget Maker help Driver Cellphone Ban

National Transportation Safety Board Maker gadget will add new features to their devices that encourage people to stop using a portable electronic device while driving. The NTSB recommended that all 50 States enact laws that bar drivers from using any portable electronic device while operating a vehicle.

The ban will cover features hands-free cell phones and electronic devices. "No call, no text, no update, the value of human life," the NTSB said. The proposed ban would extend to drivers of vehicles for commercial and personal use.

The NTSB has the power to investigate accidents and other issues surrounding the safety of the highway, but does not have the power to enact or enforce laws.

An independent federal agency recommendations not only asking the State legislature to prohibit drivers from using any portable electronic device, that device makers will also expect help.
