GameStop turned into gold

U.S. retailers report that the iDevice games trade-in store credits has exceeded expectations.

Part of the problem with being a technologically advanced society with baby toys have more advanced electronics than an astronaut who took them to the Moon is what to do with all the gadgets they once they become obsolete. Case in point: the iPod revolutionized the music that was only ten years ago was near worthless for us with new luxury smartphones. Heck, even some of the first iPhone is rubbish now. After investing $ 500 or more a few years ago, most people feel bad that the previously valuable device will only gather dust in a drawer (or worse, poisoning the dump), and that is where the GameStop in. .. In September, the retailer game started to offer a way to trade old device Apple in-store credit to pay for the game. So far, the scam has worked.

"This trade program has Speed exceeds our expectations," said Tony Bartel, bananas over at GameStop. "We hope to see strong post-holiday traffic as customers trade in older models were replaced by a gift."

While the number of credits that GameStop is offering a significant, a device that accepts for this program is limited to recent model. GameStop will provide proper credit "$ 180 for the iPod Touch, up to $ 300 for the iPhone and up to $ 400 for the iPad." The language "to" bother: I wonder if the old model actually get anything or how many values vary based on conditions. The IPad with a crack in the display are not worth 400 dollars worth of games, for sure.

And that brings the question what is GameStop with this model. The release did not say, but the rest of the trading scheme does not work if you can't move your old products. Who buy iPads this old from GameStop? They are being shipped to developing countries for sale in some kind of black market? Can I head the investigative task force to find out that all these devices be melted to form a mecha-destro-armed giant robots to take over the world?
